Malagasy Students Association of UdeM

AMU is a community founded in August 2024, bringing together students from ALL cycles, as well as Malagasy researchers and professors at the Université de Montréal.

Ny Tantara (Our History)

Created in August 2024, the AMU was born from a desire to bring together Malagasy students and community members at the Université de Montréal. It began with a small, motivated group who wanted to create a space for exchange, support, and cultural sharing. Since then, the association has grown thanks to the involvement of its members, while staying true to its mission: building a supportive, inclusive community proud of its roots.

Ny Lanja sy Iraka (Our Mission & Values)

To create an environment where every member feels welcomed and supported. We value solidarity. AMU is a space for mutual aid, personal and academic growth, cultural sharing, and support for EVERYONE: students at UdeM or elsewhere, Malagasy or not.

Ny Tanjona (Our Goals)

We aim to:
  • facilitate student integration in academic and social life
  • share useful resources and services for everyday life
  • organize cultural and academic activities and events
Each initiative strengthens the sense of belonging and promotes Malagasy culture through a strong and supportive network.
